Mapping for Health with ArcGIS Advanced Part 1 In-Person

Tariem Burroughs, MSEd, MSODL, LKSOM Center for Bioethics, Urban Health, and Policy will be teaching this two-part hands-on, maps-based GIS workshop that offers a holistic look at urban communities. Participants will gain exposure to community health and witness firsthand how maps can be used to highlight both positive and negative social determinants that may affect the health of residents of those communities.

This workshop is in two parts, and particiapants are encouraged to attend both and bring ideas for maps or existing datasets and projects. The first part will cover examples of mapping for health outcomes and an introduction to the mapping software ArcGIS. The second section will go deeper into using ArcGIS as a health mapping tool.

Please contact Will Dean with any questions.
