PubMed Special Queries

PubMed Special Queries Online

This workshop will be offered as an online session via Zoom. You must register for this workshop. You will receive a registration confirmation email, which includes the Zoom link for the workshop. On the day of the workshop, participants should log into their temple.zoom.us accounts in order to skip the waiting room. If participants are not Temple affiliates, they should use their first and last names in order to be admitted to the session. Participants do not need a video camera or a microphone, but will need an audio connection to hear the instructor.

You’ve searched PubMed, but do you know about PubMed Special Queries? Come to this session to learn about these special search filters that help you easily access PubMed literature on topics including Clinical Topics, Healthy People 2020, Health Disparities, Health Literacy, Bioethics, and the History of Medicine. Attendees will leave with knowledge of the array of Special Queries available and how to best utilize them depending on the research question.

This event is presented in conjunction with the Health Sciences Libraries online presentation of the Politics of Yellow Fever in Alexander Hamilton’s America exhibit sponsored by the National Library of Medicine. The exhibit was initially intended to make a stop at Temple University’s Ginsburg Health Sciences Library during September 2020. In light of the coronavirus pandemic traveling exhibits were paused.  The relevance of the topic to the current situation is clear and we decided to move ahead with a local virtual exhibit, workshops and speaker events.
