Writing a Data Management Plan for the New 2023 NIH Guidelines Online

On January 25, 2023, the NIH is implementing a new policy that will require grant applications for ALL research projects that generate scientific data to include a robust and detailed plan for how you will manage and share data during the entire funded period. These plans, similar to what other funders call Data Management Plans (DMPs), describe the methods and procedures for collecting, storing, and preserving your research data. At this workshop, you will learn what the upcoming NIH policy requires in a DMP, how to use the DMPTool (a tool for creating them), and how Temple University Libraries can support your research.

Please be advised that the resource covered in this workshop requires TUaccessnet credentials to log in. Those who do not have a TUaccessnet ID are still welcome to join the session and learn about the platform. Contact the presenter with questions.

For a wider view of the policy changes, please register and attend the workshop 2023 NIH Policy Changes on Wednesday, 10/26, 12-1 pm.

Register to attend the live session or to receive a copy of the recording.

This workshop will be offered as an online session via Zoom. You must register for this workshop. You will receive a registration confirmation email, which includes the Zoom link for the workshop. On the day of the workshop, participants should log into their temple.zoom.us accounts in order to skip the waiting room. If participants are not Temple affiliates, they should use their first and last names in order to be admitted to the session. Participants do not need a video camera or a microphone, but will need an audio connection to hear the instructor.

Please contact Will Dean, will.dean@temple.edu, with questions.
